Virtual Lab — Open Research & Handoff
A research shelf for promising ideas that are not yet canonical. Each domain records the clue, locked dependencies, open question, and reproducible next experiment so another investigator can pick up the work independently.
v0.2Lab Method
1. Observe
Start with a reproducible phenomenon: recurrence, ratio, symmetry, lattice, phase, spectrum, growth, motion, field behavior, or another measurable structure.
2. Separate layers
Do not confuse Nature with the register, the register with the unit, or the unit with a legacy conversion. State clearly what is physical and what is representation.
3. Reproduce
Publish enough method that another person can independently obtain the same result—or show where it fails.
Integrated Lab Instrument
Unified Map · Clock · Compass
The unified instrument is now the working real-world navigation surface for A8. It keeps map, clock, compass, coordinate notation, city sectors, route distance and elapsed travel time in one selected representation at a time.
Display A: Decimal 512 · Display B: hard Octal 1000₈. The entire instrument switches together; mixed representation is prohibited.
Current Research Domains
Music, Audio & Scale
Current clue: the Jovian 1:2:4 relationship already produces a natural ratio structure that can be rendered audibly.
- Io : Europa : Ganymede carrier structure = 1:2:4.
- Callisto may function as a slower envelope/check rather than primary authority.
- East/west reversals can become clicks or phase markers.
- Simultaneous channels can be heard as a composite resonance.
Next experiment: derive a fully native A8 pitch/interval ladder from recovered A8 phase and compare perceived consonance against ordinary equal temperament without forcing a result.
Biology, Chemistry & Natural Scaling
Current clue: living and chemical systems repeatedly exhibit doubling, halving, pairing, recursive growth, symmetry and cyclic ratios.
- Cellular doubling and halving.
- Mitosis / meiosis structure.
- DNA replication and complementary pairing.
- Molecular and atomic ratios.
- Biochemical cycles.
- 2→4→8 structures, fractal/recursive growth, symmetry and scaling laws.
Next experiment: select one reproducible biological doubling system and one molecular ratio system, express both in native ratio form, and test whether A8 representation simplifies or merely relabels them.
Quartz Convergence
Current clue: one naturally abundant crystalline material keeps appearing across several measurement domains.
- Space: ordered lattice recurrence.
- Distance witness: α-quartz a- and c-axis recurrences measured against the sealed Earth-defined A8 length ladder.
- Time carrier: mechanical resonance / quartz oscillators.
- Piezoelectric coupling: mechanical ↔ electrical response.
- Sensing: strain, force, pressure and frequency response.
- Optics: prism behavior, birefringence, optical activity and refraction.
- 3-D structure: axial c recurrence and transverse a-plane recurrence.
Next experiment: treat a and c as independent spatial witnesses, express them on the sealed A8 ladder, characterize their ratio and environmental dependence, and test optical/piezoelectric observables against the same crystal state.
Earth Grid, Navigation & Great Circles
Current clue: the map can remain ordinary geography while only the ruler changes. Great-circle paths and live vessel/aircraft coordinates provide excellent real-world tests.
Current implementation: Tokyo ↔ Los Angeles and additional city/route examples now live in the Unified Map · Clock · Compass instrument. Continue by sourcing operational route data and testing A8 time, navigation rung selection, and approach-scale transitions without changing the underlying geometry.
Temperature & Pressure
Current clue: quartz spacing, resonance and other material observables require a reproducible physical state, but current °C and pressure units are only temporary comparison coordinates.
Next experiment: identify naturally recoverable phase transitions, fixed points, ratios or recurrence phenomena suitable for a native A8 thermodynamic scale.
Matter, Mass & Volume
Current clue: mass must eventually be defined independently rather than reverse-engineered to match the kilogram.
Next experiment: identify a naturally reproducible matter/mass reference whose physical realization can be reconstructed without inheriting a legacy mass artifact.
Electricity, Magnetism & Fields
Current clue: A8 time/phase and angle already supply inputs needed for waveform phase, frequency, rotating fields, motors, generators and precision control.
Next experiment: express one simple oscillator or rotating-field system entirely in native A8 phase/time while leaving Maxwellian physics untouched.
Atomic & Subatomic Measurement
Current clue: once time, angle, length, temperature and mass are native, atomic phenomena can be measured without first translating through legacy units.
Next experiment: after base-unit coherence, re-express selected spectral wavelengths, transition frequencies, atomic dimensions and dimensionless constants in A8 units and look for simplification or new ratios.

Why This Page Exists
No one person has to finish every A8 domain. The project becomes stronger if each unfinished clue is documented well enough that a physicist, musician, biologist, chemist, geologist, engineer, programmer, navigator, or student can pick up one thread and run a real experiment.
Failure is useful. A domain that does not simplify under A8 should be recorded just as carefully as one that does.
